A Groom and his Bride

Hi lovies,

I recently did a little q+a on social media about the Lesseille wedding (eeeek, my wedding) and wanted to have a place for it to permanently stay. Also here's a peek + preview of our wedding photos. So impatiently waiting to see the rest.

q+a

Where was the wedding?
Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic

Was it everything you had expected? Did everything go according to plan?
It was even better than I could imagine. We had a crazy experience planning a wedding during covid. It was originally suppose to be in Haiti - with our friend and family. Still small and intimate but with those we care about and those who care for us. The resort decided to close for another month so we pushed it back to July. Then more covid craze. We decided to cancel and marry in the Dominican Republic just the two of us. We found a beautiful resort where we were going to get married and have our honeymoon. Deposits paid and two weeks before the big day I check their site and their closed until November. Yeah, I had two weeks to plan the biggest day of my life thus far and no warning. But that's okay - God had it all under control. I started searching for new photographers through social media and stumbled across Kumantsova Productions - they literally did it all for us. We finalized everything the week of. So crazy. From décor, an officiant, to photo and video - they brought our special day and love to life. We have to reschedule our honeymoon but that's okay. We didn't want to keep rescheduling or postponing our wedding - we were so excited to be married and that was more important to us than some extravagant wedding. It was perfect.

Was it a private wedding?
That's correct. Dophcar and I + the most incredible team.
Its not what we originally had in mind. I always wanted a small wedding with around 50 people we love. But with the world today, that was impossible.
It was so intimate and sweeter than I could dream of. I wouldn't have it any other way. Just a groom and his bride and a day we'll cherish forever.

Did anyone know (parents, family, ANYONE) know it was happening then?
Yes! We shared it with immediate family and friends. Originally, they were all supposed to be involved  but things changed so we decided just the two of us. We FaceTimed our families the day of!

Are ya'll planning on moving back to the U.S. or staying out of country?
For now, we live in the Dominican Republic. (DR shares an island with Haiti) Dophcar moved here the end of last year to find a job because finding jobs in Haiti are no where near easy. We found a cute little apartment and will both be working as we finish the visa process. If his visa is approved, we'll move to the states while we go through a whole other paperwork process. As of today, he's never even visited the states. We have a long road ahead of us but that will also give us time to figure out where we want to live long term (Haiti or the U.S.) It will all be so worth it. And to be honest, I'll love making memories with him wherever we live along the way.

Any babies soon?
As for babies, we're so excited for that season. We want a big family. I say 4 or 5 and D says 12 haha he's joking, of course. But we are waiting until we're back in the states because better healthcare. So just cherishing every moment the two of us for now.

Thanks for following along on our journey! We're hoping to start a YouTube channel soon! And yes, he even wants to help me chase my dreams with blogging. He'll be the guy on the other side of the camera for me and editing all of our content. He's the best of all time and all mine.

And marriage is beautiful.

XOXO | KIDMAN
